SECTION 4.1610. Reinstatement Procedures

(a) The insurer must accept a request for reinstatement and proof of mental incapacity that is filed by: (1) the insured, or the owner, if the insured and owner are not the same party; (2) the legal guardian of the insured; (3) other legal representative of the insured; or (4) the legal representative of the estate of the insured. (b) Proof of mental incapacity and the request for reinstatement must be submitted within one year after the date of lapse of the policy.
