SECTION 749.1253. What must staff do to prepare a child for a placement?

(a) The child-placement staff must discuss with the child the circumstances that make the placement necessary, as appropriate to the child's age and ability to respond orally and behaviorally to such a discussion. The discussion must take place prior to or at the time of the placement of a child. (b) You must document into the child's record: (1) That the discussion occurred; and (2) The child's understanding of and response to the discussions and the placement.
