SECTION 749.1251. What are the requirements for pre-placement visits for a child?

(a) A child over six months of age must visit the foster home at least once before placement. (b) There must be a meaningful interval between the pre-placement visit and the placement. This interval must be at least sufficient to allow a child and foster parents to have privacy, an opportunity to discuss and consider placement, and to have their questions, opinions, and concerns addressed. (c) You must document pre-placement visits in the child's record. (d) Pre-placement visits are not required for emergency admissions.
