(a) Applicants to take the UCPAE and licensees applying for license renewal shall arrange to provide to the Texas Department of Public Safety a complete and legible set of fingerprints from a vendor approved by the Texas Department of Public Safety for the purpose of obtaining the applicant's or licensee's criminal history record information unless the fingerprints have been previously submitted after September 1, 2014. Once fingerprints have been provided, additional fingerprints will not be required so long as the fingerprints provided were complete and legible. (b) Criminal history record information obtained from the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Federal Bureau of Investigation will be maintained pursuant to §411.084 of the Texas Government Code in order to protect the confidentiality of the information.
