Grants provided under this chapter may be used by counties for:
(1) Attorney fees for indigent defendants accused of crimes or juvenile offenses; (2) Expenses for licensed investigators, experts, forensic specialists, or mental health experts working for the defense under derivative attorney-client privilege to assist in the criminal defense of indigent defendants; (3) Other direct litigation costs related to the criminal defense of indigent defendants; and (4) Other approved expenses allowed by the Request for Applications necessary for the operation of a funded program.
