SECTION 22.552. Eligible Institutions

(a) Participation. (1) For any student graduating through the Texas First Early High School Completion Program on or after September 1, 2023, institutions of higher education, as defined in Texas Education Code, §61.003, are required to apply the state credit available to a student through the Program to the eligible student's cost of attendance, as outlined in §22.555 of this subchapter (relating to Scholarship Amount). (2) For any student graduating through the Texas First Early High School Completion Program before September 1, 2023, institutions of higher education, as defined in Texas Education Code, §61.003), that are designated as either a public research university or public emerging research university under the coordinating board's accountability system are required to apply the state credit available to a student through the Program to the eligible student's costs of attendance, as outlined in §22.555 of this subchapter. (b) Responsibilities. Participating public institutions are required to abide by the General Provisions outlined in subchapter A of this chapter (relating to General Provisions). (c) Approval. Each eligible public institution must enter into an agreement with the Board, the terms of which shall be prescribed by the Commissioner or his/her designee, prior to receiving reimbursement through the program.
