SECTION 22.550. Authority and Purpose

(a) Authority. Unless otherwise noted in a section, the authority for this subchapter is provided in the Texas Education Code, Chapter 56, Subchapter K-1, Texas First Scholarship Program. This subchapter establishes procedures to administer Texas Education Code, §§56.221 - 56.227. (b) Purpose. The purpose of this program is to incentivize the enrollment of high performing students at Texas institutions of higher education as defined in Texas Education Code, §61.003.
