SECTION 21.706. Student Eligibility

(a) To be eligible for employment in the Program a person shall: (1) be a resident of Texas; (2) be enrolled for at least the number of hours required of a half-time student, and be seeking a degree or certification at an eligible institution the semester prior to the assigned internship; (3) establish financial need in accordance with Board procedures; and (4) must be an undergraduate student enrolled in a degree or certificate program at an eligible institution. (b) A person is not eligible to participate in the Program if the person has not graduated from high school or received the equivalent of a high school diploma. (c) A person may not be employed in more than one Texas WORKS internship at a time. Source Note: The provisions of this §21.706 adopted to be effective March 2, 2020, 45 TexReg 1412
