(a) This subchapter establishes rules for eligible institutions to receive funds through the Texas University Fund and the allocation of funds distributed from the Texas University Fund each state fiscal year. The Texas University Fund is established to support general academic teaching institutions to achieve national prominence as major research universities and drive the state economy. (b) The Board adopts subchapter B pursuant to Texas Education Code, §62.152, requiring the Board to adopt rules to implement Texas Education Code, Chapter 62, subchapter G, Texas University Fund. Texas Education Code, §62.132, provides that the Board specify the eligibility threshold of research expenditures for receipt of the National Research Support Fund.
