SECTION 114.21. Licenses and Licensing Procedures

(a) Unless the context clearly indicates otherwise, use of the terms license or licenses shall apply to both licenses and registration, and the term licensee shall apply to both licensees and registrants. (b) Term of license. (1) A license shall be issued for a two year period. (2) A temporary license shall be issued for a one year period and may be renewed for one additional one year period. (3) A student registration shall be issued for a two-year period and may be renewed for one additional two year period. (c) Licenses issued by the department remain the property of the department and must be surrendered to the department on demand. (d) Licensees shall display the license in the primary location of practice or place of employment, but shall not display a license that has been photographically or otherwise reproduced. (e) A licensee shall only allow his or her license to be copied for licensure verification by employers, licensing boards, professional organizations and third party payers for credentialing and reimbursement purposes. The licensee shall sign, date and clearly mark copies with the word "COPY" across the face of the document. (f) License alterations. No person shall make alterations to a license or to a copy of a license.
