SECTION 63.8. Registration of Pet Foods in Packages of Five Pounds or Less

(a) In addition to obtaining a license as prescribed in the Act and the general rules, each brand and product name of a pet food distributed in individual containers of five pounds or less must be registered before it may be distributed. (b) All labeling information shall be submitted with the registration of the product. (c) The Service may require the applicant to present evidence of authorization to use a registered trademark or other labeling reference and that the ownership of such trademark, if referenced, appear inconspicuously both as to size or type and location on the label (or labeling) and that components of such trademark product be determinable by laboratory methods.
