SECTION 707.503. When will we intervene for the purpose of providing immediate or short-term protection to a child?

(a) We will intervene to provide for a child's immediate or short-term safety when: (1) The child is at risk of abuse or neglect in the immediate or short-term future; and (2) The child's family is unwilling or unable to protect the child without intervention. (b) When a child needs immediate or short-term protection as specified in subsection (a) of this section, we must complete a safety assessment, develop a plan to provide for the child's immediate or short-term safety, and ensure that the plan is implemented. This includes situations where the method of assuring the child's short-term protection is to remove the alleged perpetrator from the home, either voluntarily or by court order.
