SECTION 351.47. Chemical Agents

In addition to the requirements found in §351.41, §351.42 and §351.43 of this chapter, the use of chemical agents shall be governed by the following criteria:
(1) the juvenile board shall authorize under which situations chemical agents may be used; (2) immediately following the use of a chemical agent, exposed residents shall be examined by a medical professional and treated if necessary; (3) in all cases, the use of a chemical agent shall be witnessed by a staff member other than the juvenile detention officer using the agent; and (4) any use of a chemical agent is to be reported to the facility administrator immediately after the incident.
