SECTION 343.286. Room Restriction

(a) The facility shall maintain documentation of the reason for each room restriction. (b) While a resident is in room restriction, a juvenile supervision officer shall personally observe and record the resident's behavior at random intervals not to exceed 15 minutes unless supervision requirements in §343.348 or §343.350 of this title apply. (c) Room restriction assignments shall be in individual sleeping quarters or a room specifically designated for use in room restriction. If the room is not individual sleeping quarters, the room shall: (1) be heated, cooled, and ventilated in accordance with §343.222 of this title; (2) have a minimum ceiling height of 7.5 feet when measured from the floor to the lowest point of the ceiling; and (3) be equipped with a viewing window that allows staff to observe the resident.
