SECTION 12.54. Alternative Licensing for Military Service Members, Military Veterans, and Military Spouses

(a) An individual who is a military service member, military veteran, or military spouse may apply for a license under this section if the individual: (1) Holds a current license issued by another jurisdiction with licensing requirements substantially equivalent to the Act's requirements for the license; or (2) Held a license in this state within the five (5) years preceding the date of application. (b) The department may accept alternative demonstrations of professional competence in lieu of existing experience, training, or educational requirements.
