SECTION 20.20. Notification of an Unauthorized Discharge of Oil

(a) The commissioner shall promptly notify all state trustees of all reported unauthorized discharges of oil into coastal waters. (b) After observing the characteristics of the unauthorized discharge of oil and the location of the affected natural resources, if the state on-scene coordinator (SOSC) determines that the quantity or properties of the oil discharged or the natural resources potentially impacted by the oil differ significantly from the initial report, the SOSC shall promptly provide the state trustees with an updated report.
