SECTION 42.65. Changing Treating Doctors

(a) When an injured worker elects to change treating doctors, the subsequent doctor shall make a diligent effort to secure from the prior doctor or from the carrier all available medical information. The prior doctor shall immediately forward, upon proper request, all requested information, including x-rays, to the new treating doctor. (b) The carrier shall identify all prior treating doctors and provide all relevant medical records in its claim file to the subsequent doctor upon request. (c) All reasonable costs incurred in transferring records under this section shall be borne by the carrier. (d) The subsequent doctor is responsible for submitting all required reports.
