SECTION 26.424. Membership Eligibility Requirements for Single-Employee Businesses

A single-employee business is eligible to join a health care cooperative if it:
(1) is owned and operated by a sole proprietor; (2) is engaged in commercial activity for the purpose of the sole proprietor's livelihood or profit; (3) is not operated solely to obtain health benefit plan coverage under Insurance Code Chapter 1501 (concerning Health Insurance Portability and Availability Act); and (4) employed fewer than two employees on business days during the preceding calendar year.
