SECTION 134.800. Applicability

(a) This subchapter applies to all insurance carriers as defined in Labor Code §401.011(27), including insurance carriers that have contracted with or established a workers' compensation health care network as defined in Labor Code §401.011(31-a) and insurance carriers that provide medical benefits in a manner authorized by Labor Code §504.053(b)(2). All insurance carriers are required to report information prescribed by the commissioner under Labor Code §413.007 and §413.008 for each medical bill on a workers' compensation claim. (b) This section is effective September 1, 2011. Insurance carriers and trading partners may submit medical EDI records in accordance with this subchapter prior to this effective date.
