SECTION 749.3427. What must I do if the adoption is not completed within the time frame stipulated in the written agreement?

(a) The following individuals must assess why the adoption was not completed within the time frame stipulated in the written agreement: (1) Staff who supervise the adoption placement; (2) Any other professional staff involved with the family; and (3) The adoptive family. (b) You must establish a plan for finalizing the adoption and for supervising the placement. The plan must be based upon the assessment. The plan for supervising the placement must require at least quarterly face-to-face contacts in the adoptive home with both parents present. (c) You must document the assessment and the plan. (d) Child placement management staff must: (1) Review the documentation and plan; and (2) Determine whether the assessment and plan will meet the needs of the child for safety, care, and permanency. (e) The adoptive placement must be re-evaluated if consummation of the adoption has not been completed within one year.
