SECTION 749.2653. What are the requirements for an unrelated adult to reside in a foster home?

(a) Before a foster home may add a new member to the household: (1) The home must notify you of the potential new member of the household; (2) The home must comply with requirements specified in Subchapter F of Chapter 745 of this title (relating to Background Checks) and §749.1417 of this title (relating to Who must have a tuberculosis (TB) examination?); and (3) You must evaluate the effect that the adult will have on the foster children in the home. Your evaluation must include the following considerations: (A) The needs of the foster children in care; (B) The impact the adult will have in the foster family and for the foster children; and (C) Whether the change in household will conflict with the children's best interest. (b) You must document the following in the foster home record: (1) The results of the background check and the tuberculosis screening; (2) Your evaluation; and (3) The approval of the child placement management staff.
