SECTION 748.3351. What are the requirements for general living space?

You must provide:
(1) Living space, appropriate furnishings, and bathroom facilities that are safe, clean, and maintained in good repair; (2) Provisions for personal storage space in the child’s bedroom for each child’s clothing and belongings; (3) At least 40 square feet per child, including adult residents and children of caregivers residing at the operation, of indoor activity space, excluding bedrooms, halls, kitchens, bathrooms, and any other space not regularly available to a child; (4) Each bedroom with at least one window with outside exposure as a source of natural light, unless you were granted a permit by us prior to January 1, 2007, and your permit is still valid; and (5) Every bedroom window with curtains, blinds, shades, or other provisions for rest and privacy.
