SECTION 744.3151. What are the safety requirements for swings?

(a) All swing seats must be constructed of durable, lightweight, rubber, or plastic material. (b) Edges of all swing seats must be smooth or rounded and have no protrusions. (c) Swings must not be attached to a composite play structure. (d) A full bucket seat swing, intended for children under four years of age to use with adult assistance, may be used provided the distance between the bottom of the unoccupied swing seat is at least 24 inches above the protective surfacing.
