SECTION 266.201. Duration of Hospice Care Coverage: Election Periods

(a) An individual who is eligible may elect to receive hospice care during one or more of the following election periods: (1) an initial 90-day period; (2) a subsequent 90-day period; or (3) an unlimited number of subsequent 60-day periods. (b) The election periods are available in the order listed and may be elected consecutively or separately at different times. (c) An individual receiving Medicaid hospice services on the date this rule becomes effective may continue receiving those services until the current election period expires. Any subsequent election period is a 60-day period under subsection (a)(3) of this section. Source Note: The provisions of this §266.201 adopted to be effective July 26, 2022, 47 TexReg 4331
