SECTION 260.309. Cost Effective Delivery of Adaptive Aid

(a) A program provider must ensure that if an adaptive aid is delivered to an individual by a commercial carrier, such as United Parcel Service or the United States Postal Service, the most cost-effective carrier is used. (b) A program provider may not use a commercial carrier to provide overnight delivery unless it is necessary to meet the time frame for a medically necessary supply or device immediately needed by an individual and there is no other more cost-effective means to deliver the adaptive aid within that time frame.
