SECTION 414.412. Designation of Medication Classes

(a) TDMHMR will maintain an updated list of psychoactive medication classes to be used by the court. The list will be revised and distributed at least annually or more frequently as needed and will include the most common psychoactive medications. The list will be available from the Office of the Medical Director, TDMHMR, and on the TDMHMR website, www.mhmr.state.tx.us (Office of the Medical Director). (b) As provided by §414.411(c)(1) of this title (relating to Order Authorizing Administration of Psychoactive Medication), the court will only approve classes of medications unless the specific medication appears in the other category on the list or is not on the list and: (1) the medication is being used for a non-FDA approved indication; or (2) the medication is a recently FDA approved psychiatric medication.
