SECTION 851.43. GIT Certification Period and Renewal

(a) An initial GIT certification is valid for one year and may be renewed annually. (b) A GIT certificate expires at the end of the month one year from the date of issuance, and can be renewed annually if the individual: (1) Submits a GIT Certification Renewal Application (Form J) and pays the fee established by the Appointed Board; (2) Accumulates eight or more Professional Development Hours (PDH) as described in §851.32 of this chapter throughout the prior certification year to include one hour of ethics training; and (3) Remains in good standing with the TBPG. (c) A GIT is exempt from the continuing education requirement during the first renewal period. The continuing education requirement must be met in subsequent renewals.
