SECTION 115.20. Dental Hygiene Advisory Committee--Purpose and Composition

(a) The Dental Hygiene Advisory Committee is established pursuant to Texas Civil Statutes, §262.054 for the purpose of advising the Board on matters relating to dental hygiene. (b) Members of the advisory committee serve staggered six-year terms. A member may not serve more than two consecutive full terms. The completion of the unexpired portion of a term does not constitute service for a full term for purposes of this subsection. (c) The Board shall annually evaluate the Committee's work, its usefulness, and the costs related to the Committee's work to include agency staff time in support of the Committee's activities. (d) The Committee shall elect from among its members a presiding officer who shall serve for one year and who shall report to the Board on Committee activities as may be required but no less often than annually. (e) An advisory committee member is entitled to the per diem set by the General Appropriations Act and may receive reimbursement for travel expenses, including expenses for meals and lodging.
