SECTION 252.1. Definition of State Agency for Billing Purpose of the 9-1-1 Service Fees and Surcharges

The reference to state government in Health and Safety Code §771.074 refers to a state agency. State agency means:
(1) any department, commission, board, office, or other agency that: (A) is in the executive, legislative, or judicial branch of state government; (B) has authority that is not limited to a geographical portion of the state; and (C) was created by the constitution or a statute of this state; or (2) an institution of higher education as defined by the Education Code, §61.003, other than a public junior college or community college.
