SECTION 20.295. Contribution of Unexpended Political Contributions to Candidate or Political Committee

(a) A former officeholder who contributes unexpended political contributions, unexpended interest or other income earned from political contributions, or assets purchased with political contributions or interest or other income earned from political contributions to a candidate or political committee must report the contribution on an annual report of unexpended contributions or on a report of final disposition of unexpended contributions, as applicable. The former officeholder must also report the contribution under subsection (b) of this section. (b) A former officeholder who contributes unexpended political contributions, unexpended interest or other income earned from political contributions, or assets purchased with political contributions or interest or other income earned from political contributions to a candidate or political committee must report each contribution to the filing authority with whom the candidate or political committee receiving the contribution files reports. (1) The former officeholder must report such contributions on the form used for reports of contributions and expenditures a specific-purpose committee. (2) The former officeholder must file the report by the due date for the report in which the candidate or political committee receiving the contribution must report the receipt of the contribution.
