SECTION 4.38. Undergraduate Academic Certificate

(a) Institutions of higher education are encouraged to develop undergraduate academic certificate programs of less than degree length. These rules are intended to provide a streamlined process for approval of these certificates. (b) Undergraduate academic certificates may be awarded upon the completion of: (1) the Board-approved approved core curriculum of the institution; (2) a Board-approved Field of Study Curriculum; or (3) a Board-approved statewide articulated transfer curriculum of less than degree length. (c) Undergraduate academic certificates which meet one of the criteria in subsection (b) of this section require Board notification and are automatically approved.
