SECTION 26.263. Committee Membership and Officers

(a) The advisory committee shall be composed of representatives of secondary and postsecondary education, business and industry, and other state agencies, licensing bodies and other career and technical education experts. (b) Each institution of higher education which offers a degree program for which a program of study curriculum is proposed shall be offered participation on the advisory committee. (c) At least a majority of the members of the advisory committee named under this section shall be faculty members of an institution of higher education. An institution shall consult with the faculty of the institution before nominating or recommending a person to the board as the institution's representative on an advisory committee. (d) Board staff will recommend for Board appointment individuals who are nominated by institutions of higher education. (e) Members of the committee shall select co-chairs, who will be responsible for conducting meetings and conveying committee recommendations to the Board. (f) The number of committee members shall not exceed twenty-four (24). (g) Members shall serve staggered terms of up to three years.
