SECTION 22.208. Grant Amounts

(a) Funding. The Coordinating Board may not award through this program an amount that exceeds the amount of state appropriations and other funds that are available for this use. (b) Grant Amounts. (1) The Commissioner shall determine and announce the maximum grant amounts in a given state fiscal year by January 31 of the prior fiscal year. The calculation of the maximum amount will be consistent with the maximum grant forward for TEXAS Grant for the semester as set out in subchapter L of this chapter (relating to Toward Excellence, Access, and Success (TEXAS) Grant Program). (2) The amount of a Grant offered through an eligible public institution may not be reduced by any gift aid for which the person receiving the grant is eligible, unless the total amount of a person's grant plus any aid other than loans received equals or exceeds the student's financial need. (c) The Commissioner shall make grant calculations in accordance with §22.11 of this chapter (relating to Provisions specific to the TEXAS Grant, TEOG, TEG, and Texas Work-Study Programs).
