(a) Authority. The authority for this subchapter is provided in Texas Education Code, §54.2031, relating to an exemption for children of members of the Armed Forces of the United States who are deployed on active duty for the purpose of engaging in a combative military operation outside the United States. (b) Purpose. The purpose of this subchapter is to provide procedures and criteria for the administration of an exemption program for the children of certain members of the Armed Forces of the United States.
