SECTION 111.125. Returning to Active Status

(a) A person who holds a retired voluntary charity care status license and who wants to return to active status must: (1) submit a completed application on a department-approved form; (2) complete any additional hours of continuing education under §111.130 to meet the active license renewal requirements; (3) certify completion of the required continuing education hours; and (4) submit the license renewal fee for the applicable active license under §111.160. (b) A licensee must successfully pass a criminal history background check pursuant to Texas Occupations Code, Chapters 51 and 53, and the department's criminal conviction guidelines. (c) The department may require additional information, education, examinations, or training from a person who has been on retired voluntary charity care status for more than two years before returning to active status. (d) The application must be approved by the department before the person can return to active status and provide speech-language pathology or audiology services for compensation.
